News Scotland donates gifts to KidsOut!

News Scotland have run an initiative to donate gifts and clothing to children through charity, KidsOut!

KidsOut! provides support for over 20,000 children who each year flee domestic violence and seek sanctuary in a Women’s Aid Refuge. As most who arrive at the refuge only have the clothes on their back, KidsOut! provides new toys and fun days out with the children to try and bring some stability and fun back into their lives when they need it most; especially at Christmas.

The charity committee has arranged for tags to be hung on the Christmas trees located throughout the News Scotland office. Each tag will have the name and age of a child, and the present they would like. Everyone is invited to take a tag and buy a gift for a child. Once they have all been collected KidsOut! will give them out to Women’s Aid Refuges around Scotland. All of the tags are genuine requests from children previously helped by KidsOut! This is because most of the children you will help this Christmas will not arrive at a refuge until the Christmas period itself and they most often show up with nothing at all, using tags from previous children ensures they get the right mix of toys.
