In 2016 The News Academy held its third annual summer school, launched the News UK Video Academy and began the search for three Sun Apprentices.
The News Academy offers free masterclasses throughout the year to aspiring journalists. Our editors and journalists across the titles give up their time and their wealth of experience to equip the next generation with the know-how to succeed.
Next summer the News Academy will launch its Coding Academy to seek young technologists for News UK (with an aim of getting 50% females and addressing the coding gender imbalance) complementing our work finding budding young journalists for our titles.
This year we have placed two young journalists a week across The Times, The Sun and The Sunday Times work experience and internship programmes from a variety of backgrounds and levels of experience.
